Ingredients
- For the Simple Syrup:
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 15 red grapes
- 1-2 leaves basil
- For the Remainder of the Martini:
- 1 cup blackberries
- Juice of one lime
- 3 oz of Gin (2Tbs=1oz)
- 4 oz of simple syrup
- 4 oz of blackberry and lime juice
Instructions
- Prepare the Simple Syrup: Combine water and sugar and bring to a simmer until sugar dissolves. Add grapes and simmer until liquid is pink, about ten minutes. Add water if needed by the tablespoon. When sugar is dissolved, turn off the heat and add the basil. Remove basil after 2-3 minutes. The goal is to add a kiss of herbaceousness.
- For the Martini: Muddle the blackberries through a fine mesh sieve. Use the back of a spoon to smash berries.
- Squeeze the lime into the berry juice.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 1 ½ oz of gin, 2 oz simple syrup, 2 oz blackberry mixture. Cover shaker, shake no less than 60 times and pour into a martini glass. ENJOY!!!
